A Legacy Unfolding: From Anniversary Success to Future Impact

The recently held anniversary celebrations of our year group marked a significant milestone in our collective journey. Beyond the joy of reunion and celebration, it also served as a platform to strengthen our vision for a transformative legacy project, the development of a modern sports emporium comprising an indoor basketball arena, volleyball court, handball court, and badminton facilities.

How the Anniversary Went

The anniversary celebrations were a resounding success, characterized by strong participation, excellent coordination, and a vibrant spirit of unity. Members from different cohorts and locations came together in solidarity, reaffirming the bond that has kept the group active and purposeful over the years.

The event featured well-planned activities, including interactive sessions with the school and students, fundraising engagements for project support, entertainment, and reflections on our shared history. More importantly, it created an atmosphere of renewed commitment, reminding us that our strength lies in our unity and shared responsibility.

The success of the celebration was not only measured by attendance or activities but by the rekindled enthusiasm to contribute toward meaningful development initiatives.

Progress, Vision, and Benefits of the Sports Emporium Project

A central focus of our long-term agenda is the development of a sports emporium/complex by 2030, which will include:

An indoor basketball arena

A volleyball court

A handball court

A badminton facility

Progress and Vision

Significant groundwork has already been laid, including planning discussions, preliminary fundraising efforts, and stakeholder engagement which brought to fruition the completion of the first phase of the project (basketball court).

The vision is to create a modern, multi-purpose sporting facility that will serve as a hub for athletic development, competitions, and recreational activities. This project is envisioned as a legacy contribution toward our 25th anniversary, symbolizing our long-term commitment to our alma mater.

The Adehyeman Cultural Group, founded by our beloved sister YS Ohenewa Dade (may her soul rest in peace), graced the event with captivating cultural performances and poetry, adding depth, emotion, and heritage to the celebration. Goodwill messages were delivered by various year groups who joined in solidarity. Their words reflected admiration for the unity, organization, and impact demonstrated by the year group.

The Headmaster, Mr Kenneth Dotse Agbomadzi, together with the guest speaker Rev. Dr. YS Ken Obeng, commended FOSA 2005 for the remarkable celebration, describing it as one of the most well-organized anniversary events ever witnessed in the school’s history. They further encouraged support for the sports emporium project.

The official highlight of the day was led by the Project Manager, YS Irish Appiah Ampofo, together with dignitaries who performed the symbolic ribbon cutting for the basketball court and formally handed it over to the school administration. The baton for the celebration was passed on to FOSA 2006.

Looking into the future, our focus is clear:

To complete the sports emporium with excellence and transparency

To deepen member participation and consistent contributions

To strengthen partnerships with individuals, corporate bodies, and other year groups

To ensure the project becomes a lasting symbol of our legacy and impact

We also extend an open call to other year groups to adopt portions of this project as their own legacy initiative, while inviting stakeholders and sponsors to partner with us in bringing this vision to full reality.

Conclusion

What we have begun is more than a project, it is a legacy in motion. The sports emporium represents our commitment to giving back meaningfully, investing in youth development, and building infrastructure that will serve generations to come.

As we move forward, we do so with pride in our journey so far and confidence in the impact that lies ahead.
