Celebrating 20 Years of Impact after School
What a resounding success!!!
FOSA 2005 marked a memorable milestone with its Vicennial Anniversary Celebration, held from 27th to 30th November 2025, commemorating 20 years after completing school. The celebration was a beautiful blend of nostalgia, gratitude, service, and legacy building, bringing together members from far and near in a spirit of unity and purpose.
The celebration began on Thursday with a warm meet and greet session, where members reunited after years apart. It was a time of laughter, storytelling, and rekindling old friendships. This was followed by preparation activities ahead of the main events, setting the tone for a well-coordinated celebration and prepping with the students.
Friday afternoon featured a grand entrance ceremony at the school, officially announcing the presence of the year group to the Headmaster and administration of the school. During this session, the group outlined planned activities for the celebration. In a nostalgic and unifying gesture, members were clad in their respective inter-house jerseys, proudly representing the houses they belonged to during their school days. The atmosphere was filled with pride, memories, and renewed connection to their alma mater.
After the formal welcome, a Career and Mentorship Programme was held for students, facilitated by YS Dr. Wilhelmina Coker-Davies, a lecturer at Takoradi Technical University. The session was impactful, offering guidance, inspiration, and practical advice for students’ academic and professional journeys.
The day ended on a joyful note with a Borborbor cultural night, where members relaxed and bonded over music, dance, kebabs, and hot kelewele after long travels from various locations. It was a perfect blend of culture, entertainment, and fellowship.
Saturday, 29th November 2025, was the highlight of the celebration. It was dedicated to the official anniversary ceremony and the handing over of the first phase of the legacy project to the school. The event was graced by four Members of Parliament from the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, alongside the chairman and executives of the FOSA Global Executive Council (GEC), dignitaries, teachers, alumni, staff, and students. The presence of such distinguished guests elevated the significance of the occasion.
The Adehyeman Cultural Group, founded by our beloved sister YS Ohenewa Dade (may her soul rest in peace), graced the event with captivating cultural performances and poetry, adding depth, emotion, and heritage to the celebration. Goodwill messages were delivered by various year groups who joined in solidarity. Their words reflected admiration for the unity, organization, and impact demonstrated by the year group.
The Headmaster, Mr Kenneth Dotse Agbomadzi, together with the guest speaker Rev. Dr. YS Ken Obeng, commended FOSA 2005 for the remarkable celebration, describing it as one of the most well-organized anniversary events ever witnessed in the school’s history. They further encouraged support for the sports emporium project.
The official highlight of the day was led by the Project Manager, YS Irish Appiah Ampofo, together with dignitaries who performed the symbolic ribbon cutting for the basketball court and formally handed it over to the school administration. The baton for the celebration was passed on to FOSA 2006.
Citations were given to former teachers to honour them and say thank you for their dedication, patience, and lasting impact.
The day concluded with a glamorous black-tie dinner at Grace Garden Hotel, filled with laughter, dancing, and celebration.
The anniversary was climaxed on Sunday with a spirit-filled thanksgiving church service. In his closing remarks, YS Prof. Eric Stemn encouraged students to take their academics seriously and give back to the institution in the future.
Before departure, members shared a final moment over traditional Sunday tea, taking pictures and creating lasting memories. It was a heartfelt farewell filled with gratitude and a renewed sense of belonging.
FOSA 2005 continues to shine as a beacon of inspiration for all year groups, proving that when unity meets vision, legacy becomes reality.
